Over the past thirty years Naomy Stern has developed a thriving business designing haute couture dresses and gowns. “With the pandemic and social distancing,” she explains, “demand for my clothes dried up overnight. Right away I started to think about how I could use my talent to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. That is when I decided to design and sell masks and to donate the profits to charity.” Naomy’s masks sell for $5 and $ 8 and a Burberry mask sells for $15. They are available on Instagram @naomysterncouture or on Facebook and come in more than a dozen designs. While most of her customers are in the Montreal area, clients have ordered from as far away as New York City and Toronto.
Profits from the sales are being split between Torah Utfilla and Les Anges d’Esther, two charities that are helping people during the pandemic. “This is a time when many need our help, and I am pleased to be doing small part to bring hope to those who are facing challenges.”
