JCC Advocacy
The Jewish Community Council of Montreal (JCC) exists to serve and advocate strongly for the Jewish community of Quebec in order to enhance and promote our institutions, traditions and culture. In fulfilling this mandate, it has become increasingly evident that it is critical to build bridges of understanding with the non-Jewish community so that the needs of Jewish Quebecers are taken into account in public policy decisions.
The mandate of the Advocacy team at the JCC is to develop and advance evidence-based positions that are based on community input and consultation by establishing effective and open lines of communication with elected and non-elected representatives of the federal, provincial and municipal governments. In so doing the aim is to urge officials to commit to legislative policy and financial investments which support the strategic development of the Jewish community. Where appropriate the Advocacy team collaborates with like-minded organizations from both within and outside the Jewish community.
